Installation

There are two connections for the device: a male 9 pin “CapiScope” and a USB3. The “CapiScope” connector provides the control and inputs and plugs into the “CapiScope” connection on the CAMDAQ front panel.

A USB3 lead connects the camera to the laptop computer.

A separate USB2 lead connects the CAMDAQ to the laptop computer.

Do NOT use any other cable to extend the cable supplied with the . Doing so WILL damage the and the CAMDAQ. Although the connectors are the same type as used for serial RS232 cables, the internal wiring from to connector to connector is different.

CapiScope (version 4.48) expects the CAMDAQ to be found on COM4. Depending on other peripherals, it might get assigned to another COM port. Change it to COM4 in Device Manager.

  • plug in the CAMDAQ

  • Open the Device Manager by pressing the Windows Key + R. Type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.

  • Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) section.

  • Right-click the COM port and select Properties.

  • Click the Port Settings tab and click Advanced.

  • Change the COM port number to COM4.

  • unplug, and replug CAMDAQ
